Predator, Tanya, and Tremor to join Jason in Mortal Kombat X’s Kombat Pack DLC

Predator, Tanya, Tremor, and Jason revealed for MKX

Mortal Kombat X cover PS4

With Mortal Kombat X’s release date less than a month away, Netherrealm Studios just dropped some huge news via their Facebook page. Not only will Jason Voorhees of Friday the 13th be a playable character (as previously reported), but he will be joined in the Kombat Pack by Tanya, Tremor, and the titular monster from Predator. The Kombat Pack will be the first round of downloadable content for Mortal Kombat X. It’s pretty weird to be getting this news when all of the characters in the main game itself haven’t even been revealed yet, but when Predator leaked on Xbox’s official website earlier today it looks like they decided to let the whole cat out of the bag.

Predator is obviously the big news of this reveal and he will fill the other guest spot alongside Jason Voorhees. The two “classic” returning characters Tanya and Tremor are much stranger choices. Tanya debuted in MK4 and has since only appeared in MK Deception and Armageddon (which featured every character). Given that at least part of MKX’s storyline will be a retelling of MK4’s events, this does make some sense. Personally, I was hoping for Fujin instead. Tremor is probably the weirdest one of the bunch, being a boss character in the much maligned MK Special Forces (a spinoff title) and then never appearing again until now. This will be his main series debut, so I don’t know if I’d really consider him a “classic.” Still, I have to say I’m glad they didn’t just play it safe and pick some fan favorites. Check out the teaser below.

Mortal Kombat X hits shelves April 14th, 2015 for PS 4, PS 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Stay tuned for more info as it is announced.
