The upcoming Jose Prendes helmed horror film The Divine Tragedies, is loosely based on actual events. It is inspired by the Leopold and Loeb murder case. The film follows Charles and his brother Thomas as they begin playing an intellectual game that ultimately leads to murder. When the brothers think they have found the perfect victim, a single mother, things begin to unravel for them. The pair soon finds their relationship deteriorating as they discover that a police detective has caught on to their devious plans.
As of this point, The Divine Tragedies has not found stateside distribution and thus no release date is available at this time. The film is, however, poised to head out on the festival circuit. We will keep you apprised as any distribution news rolls in for this title.
