I don’t even really know what to say.
Nowadays most people have heard of and seen at least parts of the first Human Centipede, Directed by Tom Six, and to be honest I don’t think it’s terrible. I’d watched it after hearing a few things about it but felt it wasn’t as ‘bad’ as I was led to believe. It was twisted and outlandish, yes, an interesting idea with an even smarter operation, but I feel I have to talk about the second, also Directed by Tom Six, because seriously, what a load of poo. No pun intended.
If the sequel would have had a someone with brain cell or two in their head to pull off such an experiment as the lead character, then I think it would’ve worked a lot better. We believed crazy Dr. Heiter, played by Dieter Laser, in the first film as he seemed capable of such a procedure. Martin (Laurence R. Harvey) just doesn’t seem so at all.
I like how Martin is obsessed with The Human Centipede and wants to re – enact the movie. He’s a bit messed up and hasn’t had the best life, but he may be one of the dumbest killers in history. A silent, stupid villain that manages to capture not one, but twelve people.
If you’re a fully grown adult and can’t get out of duct tape when fighting for your life you probably deserve to die. (Sorry, but I have tried getting out of duct tape, and while it can take a little while, it’s totally possible).
While I have my rant going, why was the movie black and white? Barring the odd touch of brown for obvious scenes, I think that the grown adult horror lover could have handled all the blood and gore. It might have made this piece of garbage a bit more interesting.
There is a moment where you think that one woman will come through as some sort of hero, but then she does something which made no sense to the situation. Why would you do that after what just happened?
The Human Centipede sequel is twisted, yes, but it’s no longer original, clever or even remotely logical. Skip this unless you are lover of poo, unrealistic killers and black and white film. Utterly disappointing.
