Wicked Horror has just learned that the latest chapter in the ultra-profitable Insidious franchise has concluded production. The news comes courtesy of director Adam Robitel’s Twitter feed. Robitel took to the social media site to share the following message: “Last day on @InsidiousMovies Chapter 4. Can’t believe it. So excited to take you Further! #Insidious @blumhouse@creepypuppet @LWhannell“
Leigh Whannell once again penned the screenplay for this installment. And James Wan returned to produce, along with Oren Peli and Jason Blum. The project will be released October 20, 2017.
Whannell previously suggested that this chapter might take place in the time between the third film and the first. But that has not been officially confirmed at this point.
At this point, there’s no official word on where the flick would pick up or exactly how it will explore The Further this time around. But we do know that Lin Shaye will be returning and will be joined by Kirk Acevedo, Spencer Locke, Bruce Davison, Josh Stewart, and Caitlin Gerard. You now know everything we do at this point but stay tuned to the site as more breaks on the fourth film in the Insidious franchise.
