Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the creative team behind The Collector films and the screenwriters of several installments in the Saw franchise, have been tapped to script the latest installment in the rebooted Halloween series.
Malek Akkad is on board to produce with Matt Stein. Akkad is the son of original franchise executive producer Moustapha Akkad.
As for what we can actually call this latest installment, sources have told THR that it is not a remake, not a reboot, and not a reimagining. Once source told the outlet that it is a recalibration. It’s still somewhat unclear at this point if this will be directly following the storyline established in the Rob Zombie films. From the sound of it, this will be unrelated but we should know more in the coming days. We will keep you apprised as we learn more about the project.
