Today brings excellent news for fans of the 2010 film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. SlashFilm is reporting that a sequel to the much beloved horror comedy is in development! Alan Tudyk and Tyler Labine both expressed interest in returning for another film and said that they received an email from the producers saying: “We have an outline, we’re honing in on who we want to write it, we really want to make another one.”
While the duo seems to be on board for a follow up effort, they have both also made it quite clear that they will only sign on if the script does justice to the lightning in a bottle that was Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. In fact, Tyler Labine (Dale) said “We’ll never make a shitty sequel.”
No screenwriter has been announced at this point but the fact that the producers are already on board can only be seen as a good thing.
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is the hilarious story of two best friends that set out to restore a cabin in the woods but wind up getting more than they bargained for when they encounter the forces of unspeakable evil and a group of college friends while at work on their renovations.
